£3m Extension to Tingdene’s production facilitiesPlanning permission has been granted for Tingdene to forge ahead with a £3m extension to its production facilities at its HQ in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire.

Tingdene Homes manufactures residential park homes and holiday lodges and currently employs more than 200 staff.
The £3m extension is due for completion in 2017 with opportunities being created for around 40 new members of staff across the many production disciplines, stores and offices to join its dedicated workforce.

Once complete, the works are aimed at improving efficiencies and increasing productivity with two production lines, instead of the current one.

This will increase output, which will be a major bonus for Tingdene’s client base, as it will effectively shorten the lead time for the products which are in high demand.

Nick Burgess, sales and marketing director, commented: ‘We have seen a big increase and interest in holiday lodges over the last few years from some major players and also from key new developments.

‘All the indicators are that this will continue to grow over the forthcoming years in line with the desire for families to own their own holiday home and parks to develop their hire fleet as the staycation market continues to expand in the UK.

‘The extension is not just about increasing production, it is also set to become a state-of-the-art factory that will set itself apart from others within the industry.

‘The new factory and associated stores and offices will also ensure quality efficiencies of build and continual improvement of the working conditions, both of which are something that the business is dedicated to providing.’
