Discover Parks, which runs three holiday home sites in the north of the county, is blossoming with pride after receiving a trio of major environmental accolades, including a Bee Friendly award!

Pearl Lake Country Park at Shobdon and Arrow Bank Country Park at Eardisland have both been presented with top level Gold Awards, while Rockbridge Residential and Country Park at Presteigne received a Silver Bellamy Award.

Discover Parks’ staff, who are no strangers to working with the David Bellamy conservation team, are thrilled. Managing Director Glenn Jones says it’s a credit to his team of ground staff who work tirelessly to keep the parks as natural as possible. Careful planning and attention to detail has also been implemented across all three parks resulting in minimal lighting and first class traffic calming measures. This was particularly noted at Rockbridge Residential and Country Park where low levels of light pollution make it one of the best places for star gazing.

Arrow Bank Country Park was recognised for its wildflower habitat and granted the Bellamy Honey Bee Friendly award. “It was one of the many highlights mentioned by the judges” explained Glenn, “They were welcomed by the sounds of bees humming in our marvellous meadow”.
