As well as consumers, many businesses are also feeling the effects of the current cost-of-living crisis, but there are also some sources of help and advice for businesses.

As an example, one of the UK’s fastest growing holiday park operators, Away Resorts, says that it has saved hundreds of thousands of pounds by enlisting a cost reduction expert to cut its costs.

Away Resorts is working with cost-optimisation company Expense Reduction Analysts (ERA), which has been examining its costs across the board, and this has resulted in huge savings for the company. Waste disposal costs, LPG gas costs, and even laundry costs have been reduced by up to a third.

ERA also helped the leisure company roll out recycling in every holiday home, something the operator’s customers now demand, but which has also saved it £100,000 a year as a result of renegotiating pricing with its waste disposal company.

Greg Lashley, operations director at Away Resorts, explained: ‘I was particularly impressed with ERA’s data gathering and tender process. The level of detail is beyond anything we could have achieved in house. Rather than being a drain on my time or resources, ERA delivered top-line, need-to-know information to me, backed up by detailed analysis.

‘By continually achieving cost savings and efficiency gains for the business, they’ve become a trusted partner.’
