Pathfinder’s Willow has a luxurious feel and classy lines. Tasteful and chic with a pastel theme, this is a lodge with a really promising future. Bella Brodie explains why she believes it will soon be gracing many of the UK’s  best parks.

Pathfinder are well known for their winning lodges, so it’s always interesting to see what they’re going to come up with next.  The Tuscany is their best-selling lodge, based around clean and simple lines combined with quality fixtures and fittings.

That winning formula has been used again in the Willow, which is refreshingly simple, yet fresh, clever and innovative too, and looks set to hit a pretty appealing price point as a result.  Their marketing describes this lodge as ‘effortlessly stylish, architecturally brilliant and practically designed’ and we think that’s pretty spot on as a description.

A great concept
A lot of thought has gone into the concept of this lodge, giving it a personality and identity all of its own.   Pathfinder are clearly taking a lot of inspiration from the environment at the moment and in this model, the similarities between Willow tree and lodge are that both are gracefully flowing, yet ‘dancing’ with enough interest to animate the surrounding landscape, and perhaps the happy owner too!

Their ambition was to recreate this effortless environmental delight within the lodge, and they’ve done that pretty successfully. Willow trees thrive in full sun and from this perspective this is a lodge designed to let light flood in, but also to become a perfectly shaded sanctuary at times too, so as a concept that works very nicely.

Inspired by its surroundings
august featureThis first model is now at Langtoft Lakes in Cambridgeshire, in the first development on the lakes near Stamford, Langtoft Lakes, so the concept was a collaboration inspired by the natural surroundings and wildlife there.

The Freeman family have worked the land at Langtoft for several generations where the natural resources and wildlife have given them so much. They are now seeking to preserve the landscape and wildlife by creating a stunning development where people and wildlife can live in balance.

The lodges will be spaced a generous distance apart on the lake side with overhanging deck and personal boat mooring pad. The Willow will, therefore, encapsulate the essence of the reserve where nature and people live harmoniously within a stunning lakeside lodge development.

Layout
A symmetrical, centre-lounge design emphasises the focus on the living areas, maximising its potential as a sociable space. There are two bedrooms, one each end of the lodge, one with an en-suite bath room and the other with an en-suite shower/wet room.  This particular model is a 45 x 22 lodge, although it should be easily adaptable for a range of plot sizes.

One look at the floorplan will confirm that this is clearly designed to sit lengthways looking out over a view, with two sets of French windows in the lounge and a further two in each bedroom, meaning this lodge should deliver a real sense of freedom and some hearty good-old fashioned fresh air when opened up in a natural environment.
